UPDATED: Right-to-carry vs. gun free zones

Maybe I'm making this too simplistic but in light of the Virginia Tech and the Colorado church shootings, I'd like to make an observation:

At Virginia Tech, students and faculty who had a license to carry guns were not allowed to have their fire arms with them on campus. The Virginia Tech shooter was able to take his time gunning his victims down and no one was able to offer any resistance.

Death count: 32

The security guard at New Life Church had a license to carry and was helping to provide security during Sunday's worship service. She confronted the shooter and stopped his rampage.

Death count: 2

Conclusion? Criminals will do what criminals do best - break the law regardless of what laws you pass. If you take the rights of law abiding citizens away (gun ownership and right-to-carry), then only the criminals will have guns.
